Hi, my name is Rebekah Burns and I am the President of Ink & Owl Bookkeeping Co.
I started my business because I love taking a pile of seemingly random pieces of paper, sorting them into categories, and creating helpful information from them. I feel like I bring clarity and order to the chaos that overwhelms my clients.
When I first started, I had a huge case of imposter syndrome. Then I realized that I had done this before. When I was in high school, one of my first jobs was doing the bookkeeping for the bicycle shop that my family owned. The next challenge I faced was finding clients. I wanted to focus on helping bicycle shop owners, but the problem was that there were no bicycle shops in my town. That’s when I started to expand into the virtual bookkeeping service.
I’m passionate about helping independently owned bicycle shops, beauty salons, and stylists. I am very good at doing cleanup bookkeeping projects and bringing years of bookkeeping into the current month.
I am a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional with over 14 years of accounting experience. I have taken the IRS 2022 Annual Federal Tax Refresher course and am prepared for the 2023 tax season. I am a member of the Digital Bookkeeper Association.
My favorite thing to do that isn’t bookkeeping is read books. Mostly romance, business building, sci-fi, and manga. I’m always reading something before I go to bed each night. It won’t take you long to notice that I’m a fan of all the geek stuff. Star Wars is my first love, but Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, anime, and the occasional K-Drama are also constantly in my watchlist.
